Stories, Travels and Photographs

Last year, REI started a trend on Black Friday, urging people to "Opt outside" rather than go stand in line at retailers to buy junk we don't need by closing their stores and giving employees the day off.  As someone who has worked retail and multiple Holiday Seasons, I thought this was a rad concept.  This was my second holiday season away from a 9-5 job and I took the opportunity to go venture around Rocky Mountain National Park with my roommate and a few new friends.  We hiked up to a lesser popular lake in the park, Cub Lake.  It was about a 5 mile loop, with less than a thousand feet in elevation gain.  The lake was partially frozen but the eeriness of the burn scar in the area made it visually pleasing to shoot. After a celebratory beer, we made our way back to the cars just before sunset. Cheers friends.
