Recently, I partnered with MINDBODY, an app that helps people find local fitness classes. The app was launching in the Denver space, and they wanted to explore what wellness in Denver looks like as they entered the market.
Typically when I start a new project, I like to curate a mood-board to create a clear direction and plan for the shoot. For me, it helps explain the creative vision, especially when working with models. For this series I selected lifestyle images that I thought would convey wellness through movement and fluidity, while capturing the unique feeling of Denver. Wellness means something different to everyone, so I wanted to shoot a variety of lifestyle photography to demonstrate that, including yoga, running, and cycling. With these in mind, I then selected some iconic locations to use in the background, like Union Station, the Colorado State Capitol Building, and the Denver skyline.
To round out the campaign, MINDBODY chose two photos to print off for their launch party show and auctioned them off to raise money for Denver Public Schools. All in all, it was a pretty great way to make a first impression in a new market.
